Meropenem OEL Fastrac monograph

Meropenem, an antibiotic, is used to treat a wide variety of clinical infections. Meropenem, a beta-lactam carbopenem antibiotic, inactivates penicillin binding proteins important in bacterial cell wall synthesis. The inactivation results in faulty cell wall synthesis and cell lysis, killing the bacteria.
