Consensual Nonmonogamy 101
Polyamory, ethical nonmonogamy, monogamish, swinging, relationship anarchy– if the idea of having multiple intimate partners perks your ears up, you may pretty quickly get overwhelmed by the clamor of all the terms, ideas, and definitions being thrown your way. Whether you’re currently single, in a monogamous relationship, casually dating, or already trying your hand at consensual nonmonogamy (CNM), this workshop will give you clarity and skills for your journey. Sex and relationship educator Katy Harrison takes you by the hand to guide you through the wild world of CNM and gives you the map to begin charting your course. A beginner-friendly blend of helpful vocabulary, basic concepts explained, and a little collective self-reflection gets you past “I don’t know what I don’t know” and ready to explore in real time. You’ll learn: - A variety of nonmonogamous relationship structures and how they differ - Relationship components that help you define what matters most to you - What’s true about CNM and what’s a myth or misconception - Joys and pitfalls you’ll probably encounter as you get started in CNM - Ways to explore your ideal CNM life– and find the right partners in it Katy Harrison (they/them) is an emerging sexuality educator based in Philadelphia, PA. They are pursuing their Masters of Education in Human Sexuality Studies at Widener University and will be doing their Practicum Placement there. After graduating, Katy wants to continue doing anti-oppression based sex education as a community outreach coordinator. In their free time, Katy loves engaging in discussions about sex and meditating, and cuddling with their cats, Bitsy and Dusky. Class recording from 9/26/23.
