Can you believe there was a time when using personal ads to date seemed weird or creepy? Now, it sometimes seems like it’s impossible to meet potential partners without using dating apps. If you’re dipping your toes into the wide world of swiping for the first time, or you’ve tried them and gotten burned out, you might be feeling overwhelmed and frustrated. Don’t worry—help is at hand! In this workshop with dating and relationship educator and coach Rebecca Rose Vassy, you’ll get expert guidance for everything from choosing your app, to writing your profile and choosing your picture, to maximizing your chances for a great match. Learn to: - Understand how dating apps work, and what they are and are NOT good for - Figure out what you want out of using an app, and set achievable goals for it - Make an eye-catching profile that gets the RIGHT people responding - Put your best pics forward to stand out from the crowd - Write a first message that gets replies more often than not This workshop is specifically inclusive of queer, trans/non-binary, kinky, and polyamorous/ENM people. We’ll talk about which apps are friendliest to people of different identities, and how to talk about those identities in your profile. This class includes exercises and writing prompts for you to start creating a theoretical profile. Class recording from 11/7/23.
