Red Flag, Green Flag: Finding and Building Healthy Intimate Relationships
When are your relationship struggles just regular rough patches, and when are they a sign that you’re in a toxic situation? Over time, you might have become so used to your relationship “red flags” that getting upset about them feels like overreacting or asking too much. And what if you’re the type of person who doesn’t like to rock the boat, who’s used to adapting to others’ needs, or who feels like you don’t deserve “too much”? What if you find yourself acting out red flag behavior? It’s often hard to get a clear look at your intimate relationships on your own, especially if you were never shown what a truly functional and healthy love dynamic looks like. Join relationship educator and coach Rebecca Rose Vassy for a virtual workshop that will help you take stock of your relationship beliefs, identify common red flags, and learn what “green flags” to seek out and work toward. Whether you’re single and trying to prepare for your next partnership, in a monogamous relationship, in more than one ethically non-monogamous/polyamorous relationships, or even a parent thinking about how you’ll teach your teens about dating, this workshop will give you tools and skills for a richer, more rewarding love life. You’ll learn: - The difference between red flags and regular relationship conflicts - How to know when a red flag can be resolved (and even turned green!) and when it’s harder to change - What a green flag looks like, and how to develop them in your relationship (even when they haven’t been there before) - How to assess yourself for red flag behavior, and what to do if you find it - Strategies for you and your partner(s) to build a better dynamic - Where to get support for your next steps– whether that’s working through things, getting help, building more skills, or walking away Sometimes, red flags come from inexperience or outdated cultural ideas about how relationships “should” be…and sometimes, they come from a place of deep dysfunction. We’ll talk about the difference, and look at models of green-flag relationships as contrast. Class recording from 12/6/22. Please reach out to contact@tamarapincus.com if you need sliding scale.
