Relationship Champ: Up Your Game as a Romantic Partner
Being in a long-term relationship (married or not) can be HARD. Worse, no one ever really teaches us how to do it—we had to either hope we had good role models growing up, or we had to go looking for resources, and otherwise we just stumble through and do our best. Make up for lost time now by learning skills that will help you build and nurture partnerships that are fulfilling, deep, and based on friendship and joy. Sex and relationship educator Rebecca Rose Vassy leads you through a series of interactive and reflective experiences in this workshop that will help you take an inventory of your strengths and weaknesses as a partner. From there, you’ll learn skills that will help you be a confident, reliable, and desirable partner. Topics include: - How to arrive at a division of chores, caretaking, and errands that feels fair to both/all of you - A technique for a regular “check-in” conversation to share and resolve concerns before they blow up into bigger issues - Communication strategies for managing conflict in a healthy, loving, solution-focused manner - Ways to keep your relationship fun and playful—even (and especially) when times are hard - How to translate the concept of “money” for each other to better manage it together - How to bridge the gap between the way you give love and the way your partner wants to receive it, and vice versa - Ways to prioritize appreciation for each other—and why this makes such a difference - What it means to really be there for your partner in big ways and small We’ll also talk about the importance of owning and expressing your desires and maintaining your boundaries—no more guessing games, people-pleasing, or martyrdom! We can only change ourselves in relationships; we can’t force our partners to change. This workshop will help you feel confident that you’re doing everything you can to meet your partner halfway. This workshop is appropriate for singles who want to feel good about what they’ll bring to future relationships as well as people in relationships who want to improve their partnerships; it’s ideal for couples or moresomes who want to work together to build a stronger relationship. Class recording from 9/15/22. Please reach out to contact@tamarapincus.com if you need sliding scale.
